CEG College was founded in 1794 as a School of Survey. This institution evolved into the Civil Engineering School, and ultimately, in 1859, CEG College was established under the Madras University. In 1978, Perarignar Anna University of Technology (PAUT) was created, leading to the formation of Anna University, which comprises four constituent colleges.
