The Firebird Institute of Research in Management (Firebird) was founded with the goal of fostering world-class contemporary management leadership. From its inception, the institute emphasized industry relevance, rooted in its industrial origins. Initially, Firebird served as a key leadership development initiative for the 2500 crore Bannari Amman Spinning Mills/Shiva Texyarn Group of companies. Over time, it expanded to provide a full-time Masters Programme in Management.

The two-year full-time PGDM programme at Firebird Institute of Research in Management (FIRM) is sanctioned by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Additionally, the institute offers scholarships of up to INR 1.20 Lakh.
