The Footwear Design and Development Institute, commonly referred to as FDDI, was founded in 1986 by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The institute aims to address gaps in fields such as Footwear, Leather accessories, and style products, among others. Situated in Hyderabad, it has been recognized as an ‘Institution of National Importance’ under the FDDI Act of 2017. FDDI Hyderabad is a public institution with approximately 12 expansive campuses across India. The college is acknowledged by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) as its awarding body, along with certifications from BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), ISO 17025, and SATRA.
FDDI Hyderabad offers a range of courses primarily in the Footwear & Products, Leather Products, Retail and Fashion Merchandise, and Fashion Design sectors.
