The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Lucknow was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 2015. It was created under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with financial support from MHRD, the Government of India, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh Electronics Corporation Ltd. as industry partners. IIIT Lucknow provides Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Technology (MTech), MBA, MSc, and PhD programs.
The academic session commenced in 2015 with guidance from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad campus. Admission to IIIT Lucknow courses is based on entrance exams. In 2023, the cutoff for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering was highly competitive at 11702. The cutoff list is generated based on the scores of applicants in the respective accepted entrance examinations.
