IIT Dharwad - Indian Institute of Technology

The Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad, commonly known as IIT Dharwad, is a third-generation IIT that was established in 2016. Founded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, it is mentored by IIT Bombay. In the NIRF 2023 Rankings, IIT Dharwad has been placed at 93 in the 'Engineering' category. The institute has also set up the Global Centre of Excellence for Affordable and Clean Energy (GCoE ACE) to promote the development of Affordable and Clean Energy (ACE) in India. Additionally, it has received a 5-star rating under the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) for its Large Development (LD) Master Plan.

IIT Dharwad is recognized as an Institute of National Importance (INI) and operates as a government institution offering a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The institute includes over 10 departments, such as the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Civil & Infrastructure Engineering, among others. Through these departments, it provides various courses including BTech, MTech, MS, and Integrated BS-MS. IIT Dharwad has entered into numerous national and international Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with organizations and universities, including The University of New Brunswick in Canada, National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, Deshpande Startups, and the University of Agricultural Sciences in Dharwad, among others.
