IIT Hyderabad - Indian Institute of Technology

IIT Telangana is designated as an Institute of National Importance (INI). Initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, IIT Hyderabad is a government institution that provides a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in fields such as Engineering, Science and Liberal Arts, Design, and Management. The courses offered at IIT Hyderabad include BTech, MTech, MSc, among others. IITH has established numerous national and international Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with corporations and universities to foster collaboration in academic and professional areas. On the international front, IIT Hyderabad has formed MoUs with institutions like Auckland University of Technology, Osaka University, Kathmandu University, Istanbul Gedik University, University of Siegen, and Allied Telesis Labs Limited, among others.

Admissions to IIT Hyderabad are determined by national-level entrance examinations such as JEE Advanced and others. The admission process includes counseling sessions like JoSAA to facilitate student admissions. During the 2023 placement season, the highest and average salary packages offered at IIT Hyderabad were INR 63.78 LPA and INR 20.07 LPA, respectively. The institute provides two types of scholarships at the institutional level - merit-cum-means and ST/SC scholarships. IIT Hyderabad (IITH) History

• The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad was founded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India under the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011.
• The Act was passed in the Lok Sabha on 24 March 2011 and in the Rajya Sabha on 30 April 2012.
• IIT Hyderabad began its operations on 18 August 2008 from a temporary campus located at Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited.

• In July 2015, IIT Hyderabad relocated permanently to its 600-acre campus in Kandi, Sangareddy, which was previously a detention camp during World War II.

• The campus architecture is closely linked to Japan, as it was established with technical and financial support from the Government of Japan.
