• KJ Somaiya Vidyavihar University was established by the philanthropist and ‘Sugar King of India’, Padma Bhushan Shri Karamshi Jethabhai Somaiya.
• The Somaiya Trust founded the Somaiya Vidyavihar Mandir School in 1942 and later established Somaiya Vidyavihar in 1959.
• The University has two campuses, Vidyavihar and Ayurvihar, located in Sion.
• The Somaiya Trust also oversees other smaller campuses situated in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
