Founded in 1921, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (commonly referred to as MGKVP Varanasi) is a state university situated in Varanasi. The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It comprises three campuses: Gangapur campus, NTPC campus, and Bhairav Talab campus. In addition to these campuses, the university features 10 faculties, four constituent institutes, and over 30 departments at its Varanasi campus.
Furthermore, it has more than 350 affiliated colleges distributed across six districts: Varanasi, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, and Ballia.
