Founded in 1946, The National Institute of Engineering (The NIE), Mysuru, is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and holds accreditation from the NAAC. In 2007, the NIE was granted autonomous status by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).
