Founded in 2015, NIA was conceived as a design school with a strong focus on Tropical Architecture. The core concepts of our programs were developed after consulting with renowned architects from India, the USA, and Europe. We have also engaged in thorough discussions and consultations with experts in academia, design, and research fields.
Nitte (Deemed to be a University) is situated amidst the mountain ranges of the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea coast. At NIA, architecture is viewed as a vital component of a larger framework that encompasses art, theatre, music, and design. With this perspective, the institute has implemented a co-operative education program, commonly referred to as 'co-op,' where students gain diverse skills through practical work and internships.
As a key aspect of the program, the institute encourages students to engage with their local communities and cultures in their design approach, fostering a harmonious relationship with our environment. The institute offers admission to the BArch course in a full-time format at the undergraduate level. Admission to the NITTE Institute of Architecture is based on entrance exams. The institute accepts scores from entrance tests such as NATA and JEE Main Paper 2. Candidates can find the highlights of the NITTE Institute of Architecture in the table below:
