National Law University Jodhpur, commonly referred to as NLU Jodhpur, ranks among the top five of the 23 National Law Universities (NLUs). Established in 1999 under the NLUJ Act, it was sanctioned by the Rajasthan State Legislature in the same year. The University is a member of the Consortium of National Law Universities and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Additionally, it is part of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In 2020, it achieved rankings of four and five for Law by the NIRF and The Week, respectively, and was ranked six and eight among all NLUs according to the NIRF and the CLAT cut-off, respectively.
The University provides various programmes including BA LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), LLM, MBA, PhD, DLitt, and LLD, covering diverse areas of Law such as Constitutional Law, Business Law, Trade Law, International Law, Criminal Law, and Intellectual Property Rights Law. In addition to these courses, the University offers PG programmes through distance education in partnership with IMTCDL/IMT. It boasts over 40 permanent and visiting faculty members and organizes moot court competitions for Law students, featuring two moot courtrooms designed to replicate actual court settings.
