Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, commonly referred to as NLU Visakhapatnam or DSNLU, is one of the National Law Universities in India. Established in 2008 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in Visakhapatnam, it operates under the DSNLU Act, 2008. Initially named “Andhra Pradesh University of Law,” it was renamed to “Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University” in 2012. This state-level university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In 2019, it achieved a ranking of 18 among all NLUs based on the CLAT cut-off. Currently, the University offers BA LLB (Hons), LLM, PhD, LLD, and PG diploma programs across various legal specializations. All courses provided by the University are sanctioned by the Bar Council of India (BCI). In addition to regular classes, the University organizes moot court competitions for its students. At present, it boasts over 20 visiting and permanent faculty members.
