Rajalakshmi Engineering College

Founded in 1997, Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC) is a private autonomous institution established by the Rajalakshmi Educational Trust and affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. It has been granted 12(b) status by the UGC and has achieved NAAC accreditation with Grade ‘A++’. Furthermore, REC is recognized by the AICTE and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India, has acknowledged the institute as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO). Additionally, REC holds ISO certification. The institute ranked 86th in the NIRF 2023 Rankings within the Engineering category.

Rajalakshmi Engineering College has entered into multiple MoUs at both national and international levels with various institutions and organizations. These agreements include partnerships with Gedik University, Turkey, EDINBORO UNIVERSITY, ALTINBAS UNIVERSITY, Bahir-Dar University, Ethiopia, University of Regina, Canada, and Infosys, among others.

The institute provides full-time BTech, BE, MTech, MBA, and ME programs across a range of specializations. REC offers more than 18 undergraduate and 9 postgraduate programs in fields such as Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering, among others. Admissions to REC courses are based on entrance exams. BTech admissions are determined by TNEA scores, while the MBA program accepts TANCET scores. During the 2023 placement season at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, over 280 recruiters participated in the placement drives organized by the institute.
