About NIE Mysore

Founded in 1946, The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) is situated in Mysore. NIE Mysore is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and received autonomous status from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi in 2007. Additionally, the institute is accredited by the NAAC. NIE is the second engineering college established in Karnataka and the first in Mysore. Currently, NIE Mysore offers over 20 courses across two disciplines: Engineering and IT.

Admissions to this institute are based on entrance exams. NIE Mysore accepts national or state-level Engineering entrance examinations such as COMEDK-UGET, KCET, Karnataka PGCET, etc. for both UG and PG admissions. What is the admission process for National Institute of Engineering Mysore?

NIE Mysore admission includes various steps for UG and PG courses. Below is the steps to get admission to NIE Mysore:

Step 1: NIE Mysore Application Process 2024

The mode of application is online for all NIE courses. NIE Mysore admission to MCA and M.Tech programmes is via Karnataka PGCET conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Candidates need to register for entrance exams like KCET or COMEDK-UCET for BE admission. For Management Quota, registration will be done on the official website of the institute.

Step 2: Selection Process

NIE Mysore selects candidates for BE, M.Tech and MCA courses based on the entrance exam. For BE, candidates can apply for admission through KCET or COMEDK-UGET score. M.Tech admission will be based on Karnataka PGCET or GATE score.

Step 3: Cutoff Ranks

Candidates must score equal or above the cutoff rank to get admission to NIE Mysore courses. The cutoffs are released by entrance exam conducting body, based on which admission is granted.

Step 4: Counselling & Seat Allotment

Once the selection process is over, candidates must come with the specified documents for verification. Seats will be allotted to candidates based on their cutoff ranks. Selected aspirants must pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.
