About UILS Chandigarh

Founded in 2004, the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) in Chandigarh is a part of Panjab University. It provides two integrated undergraduate programs - BCom LLB (Hons) and BA LLB (Hons), along with two postgraduate offerings - LLM (one year) and LLM (two years) in the field of Law. The primary aim of the institute is to prepare students with the necessary skills and knowledge to understand and analyze the complexities of various legal and interdisciplinary issues, and to develop solutions through critical thinking and reasoning. The department ensures that students gain practical experience in law through mandatory internships with judges from the Supreme Court and Punjab Haryana's High Court, as well as with distinguished lawyers, legal firms, various commissions, and NGOs.

UILS features a placement cell dedicated to creating job and training opportunities for students. This cell also assists students in securing positions with various legal firms, advocates, corporations, and NGOs. Additionally, it provides a range of scholarships, including those for students with disabilities, post-matric scholarships, central sector scholarships, and SC/ST scholarships.

Which specialisation is the best in LL.M. from Univ Institute Legal Studies, Panjab Univ?

Eligibility Criteria

A person who has passed one of the following examinations shall be eligible after qualifying the entrance test to join the first semester class of the LL.M. Course:-

(a) LL.B.3 years Degree/B.A.LL.B./B.Com.LL.B. 5 years degree examination of this University with minimum 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/BC candidates); or

(b) Any equivalent examination of another University recognised by the Syndicate for this purpose.

 

Admission Details

Admission to LL.M course shall be on the basis of an Entrance Test conducted by the Panjab University. The merit will be calculated as under:-

1) Entrance test=80%

2) Academic Marks =20%
