Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (VBSPU) is a state university located on a campus that spans 171.5 acres in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. The university has received an ‘A+’ NAAC accreditation, achieving a CGPA score of 3.28, and is recognized by the UGC. Established in October 1987 under the U.P. State University Act of 1973, VBSPU initially started with 68 affiliated colleges and has since grown to encompass 552 affiliated colleges that offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

At the university campus, VBSPU features 6 faculty departments, while its affiliated colleges boast over 10 additional departments that provide specializations in fields such as Engineering and Technology, Medicine, Management Studies, Applied Social Science, Science, and Law. The university offers a variety of courses, including MBA, BA, BTech, BSc, MSc, MTech, and MCA, available in both full-time and part-time formats. In 2019, VBSPU transitioned to an affiliating-cum-residential university, introducing 16 residential courses.
