Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, commonly referred to as Vel Tech University, was founded in 1997 and is situated in Avadi, Chennai. It is recognized as a deemed private university and has received an A++ grade accreditation from NAAC and NBA. Initially, the university was affiliated with the University of Madras, but in 2001, it transitioned its affiliation to Anna University. The institution was designated as a Deemed-to-be university in 2008.
