WGSHA was founded in 1986 as a part of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. The Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration was created as a unit of the Dr. TMA Pai Foundation in partnership with the Hotels Division of ITC Ltd.
