The Bar Council of India (BCI) has officially commenced the registration process for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XXII. Law graduates and eligible students aiming to qualify for legal practice in India are invited to submit their applications through the official online portal. Prospective candidates are advised to complete their registration well in advance of the upcoming deadline to ensure their participation in the examination.
The registration window for AIBE XXII is scheduled to close on October 27, 2026. While the application submission deadline is set for late October, the BCI has provided a one-day extension for the payment of the application fee, which will be accepted until October 28, 2026. Following the conclusion of the application process, the examination is slated to be conducted on November 29, 2026.
To be eligible for the AIBE XXII, candidates must have successfully completed a three-year or five-year LLB programme from a university or college recognised by the Bar Council of India. The examination is also open to final-year or final-semester LLB students, provided they do not have any outstanding backlogs. Furthermore, the BCI has maintained its provision for candidates who have not yet received their formal degree or enrolment certificate, allowing them to apply under specific undertaking-based eligibility criteria.
When completing the online application form, candidates are required to provide accurate personal, academic, and enrolment information. The process also necessitates the uploading of specific supporting documents to verify the candidate's credentials. Applicants should ensure that all details entered match their official records to avoid discrepancies during the verification stage. Once the application window closes, no further submissions will be entertained, making it essential for all interested law graduates to adhere strictly to the October 27 deadline.
