The Commissionerate of Higher Education in Andhra Pradesh has officially extended the registration window for the AP PGECET 2026 counselling process. Candidates who have qualified through AP PGECET, GATE, or GPAT and are seeking admission into MTech and various other engineering programs across the state now have until September 27, 2026, to complete their registration and pay the required fees.
This extension has necessitated a revision of the entire counselling schedule. The updated timeline is designed to accommodate the registration period while ensuring that subsequent stages, including certificate verification and seat allotment, proceed in an orderly fashion for all eligible applicants.
Following the extension of the registration deadline to September 27, 2026, the authorities have released the revised sequence of events for the web-counselling process. Online verification of uploaded certificates at designated helpline centres is scheduled to continue through September 28, 2026. Candidates who have successfully registered are permitted to exercise their web options starting from September 23, with the window for these selections remaining open until September 29, 2026. A specific period for the modification of web options has been set for September 30, 2026.
The culmination of this phase will be the announcement of the AP PGECET 2026 round one seat allotment results, which is now confirmed for October 4, 2026. Following the seat allotment, candidates will be required to complete the self-joining and reporting process at their respective allotted colleges between October 5 and October 8, 2026.
To participate in the counselling, candidates must visit the official portal at cap.apcfss.in and select the registration option. The process requires applicants to input their admission details, contact information, and email address before proceeding to the fee payment stage. It is essential for candidates to retain their login credentials securely, as these will be necessary for the upcoming choice-filling phase.
Applicants are reminded to have a comprehensive set of documents prepared for the verification process. Required documentation includes the AP PGECET 2026 rank card and hall ticket, or the GATE/GPAT score card. Additionally, candidates must provide academic records such as the SSC marks memo, intermediate or diploma certificates, and the degree consolidated marks memo along with the provisional certificate. Depending on individual eligibility, other necessary documents include study certificates from class 10 through to graduation, residence certificates, community certificates, income certificates, and any relevant category certificates such as EWS, NCC, Sports, PwD, or CAP. Ensuring all these documents are ready will facilitate a smoother verification experience as the counselling timeline progresses.
