Assam NEET PG 2026: Round 1 Registration Deadline Today

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, is set to conclude the registration process for the first round of NEET PG 2026 counselling today, October 28. Candidates who have qualified for the NEET PG examination and are seeking admission to state quota seats are required to complete their registration through the official website at dme.assam.gov.in by 11:59 PM.

This registration window serves as the primary gateway for aspirants to participate in the state-level seat allocation process. The authorities previously extended the application deadline to ensure that all eligible candidates had sufficient time to submit their details. It is essential for applicants to note that only those who successfully register within this timeframe will be permitted to proceed to the subsequent stages of the counselling process.

Choice Filling and Seat Allotment Schedule

Following the conclusion of the registration phase, the DME will initiate the choice-filling process on October 29, 2026. During this period, registered candidates will be able to log in to the official portal to select and prioritize their preferred medical colleges and specializations. This step is critical, as the final seat allotment will be based on the choices submitted by the candidates.

The window for choice filling is scheduled to remain open until October 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Furthermore, the authorities have designated a specific timeframe for the online choice-locking facility, which will be available on October 30 between 4:00 PM and 11:55 PM. Candidates are advised to finalize their selections carefully within these stipulated hours to ensure their preferences are recorded.

Once the choice-locking process is complete, the DME will process the data to determine the seat distribution. The official results for the first round of seat allotment are scheduled to be announced on November 2, 2026.
