Assam NEET UG 2026: Round 1 Reporting and Admission Process Begins

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Assam has officially initiated the reporting process for the first round of NEET UG 2026 counselling. Students who were successfully allotted MBBS or BDS seats in the initial round are now required to report to their respective institutions to finalize their admission formalities and undergo mandatory document verification.

This phase of the admission process follows the declaration of the seat allotment results, which were released by the authorities on September 2, 2026. Candidates are strongly advised to carefully review their allotment status, ensuring that the college, course, and category details align with their preferences before proceeding to the physical reporting stage at their designated medical or dental colleges.

Reporting Schedule and Essential Documentation

The reporting window for candidates is strictly limited, with the process concluding on September 5, 2026. To ensure a smooth transition into their chosen programs, students must present themselves at their allotted colleges with all necessary documentation. The DME has emphasized that candidates must carry both original documents and a set of photocopies for verification purposes.

The required documentation includes the Assam NEET UG counselling application form, the NEET UG 2026 admit card, and the official NEET UG 2026 scorecard. Additionally, students must provide proof of their academic history, including the Class 10/HSLC admit card and passing certificate, along with their Class 12 mark sheet. Other mandatory documents include a Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC), a valid identity proof, and the official seat allotment letter issued by the DME. Candidates belonging to reserved categories are also required to produce their relevant caste or category certificates.

Admission Formalities and Next Steps

Beyond document verification, the admission process involves several administrative requirements. Candidates must be prepared to pay the necessary counselling and admission fees, which are approximately INR 25,000. Furthermore, students are required to submit original mark sheets and pass certificates for both HSLC and HSSLC examinations to the Principal of their respective colleges. Final admission is contingent upon the candidate being declared medically fit for the course.

As part of the formal enrollment, students must sign and submit a prescribed admission agreement to the college Principal within 15 days of their admission. It is essential for all provisionally selected candidates to adhere to these timelines to secure their seats.
