BITS School of Management (BITSoM), part of BITS Pilani, has officially launched VERTEX, an innovative incubation program designed to support artificial intelligence (AI) startups. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Silicon Valley-based LENZ, aims to nurture 100 AI startups over the next three years, helping them transition from early-stage concepts to enterprise-ready businesses. The program is particularly focused on addressing the common challenges faced by AI startups after they develop their initial products.Many startups successfully create a minimum viable product (MVP) but encounter difficulties in testing their solutions with businesses, securing customers, and attracting investors. VERTEX seeks to bridge this gap by offering comprehensive support, including mentoring, industry guidance, and access to extensive enterprise networks. Startups selected for the program will benefit from mentorship provided by experts from LENZ, opportunities to collaborate with industry partners, and access to investor connect programs and AI infrastructure.In addition to external support, BITSoM students will engage directly with the founders of these startups, assisting with market research and business development projects. This hands-on experience is designed to enrich the educational journey of BITSoM students while fostering a collaborative environment where entrepreneurs can work closely with seasoned business leaders to develop practical AI solutions.Arvind Ravishunkar, Managing Director of BITSoM VERTEX, emphasized India's significant potential to cultivate AI companies capable of addressing global challenges. He noted that the program's primary objective is to connect founders with essential resources, including customers, mentors, and investors, to accelerate their growth. The incubator is open to applications from AI startups across various sectors, including enterprise AI, software automation, multilingual AI, education technology, and financial technology.Applications for the inaugural batch of BITSoM VERTEX are currently being accepted through the program's official website.
