C3iHub at IIT Kanpur has announced a significant partnership with Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University (DBRAU) in Agra and the Vivekanand Incubation Foundation (VIF) to launch an online vocational program in cybersecurity. This initiative aims to equip over 300,000 students from more than 570 affiliated colleges with essential skills in cyber safety and security. The program, which will be conducted entirely in Hindi, is designed to enhance accessibility to technical education for students from semi-urban and rural backgrounds, thereby addressing language barriers in the field of cybersecurity.

The tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines the roles of each partner in the program's implementation. C3iHub will be responsible for developing the curriculum and providing academic expertise in cybersecurity research and training. Meanwhile, VIF will oversee the technical and administrative infrastructure necessary for delivering the course across the participating colleges. This collaboration is expected to focus on real-world cybersecurity challenges, ensuring that students gain practical knowledge relevant to the industry.

The curriculum will cover a wide range of topics, including cybercrime prevention, cyber hygiene, social media security threats, identity theft, and personal data protection. Additionally, the program will address online safety for vulnerable groups such as women and children, as well as raise awareness about the dark web and cyber terrorism. To enhance the learning experience, the course will incorporate quizzes, workshops, feedback sessions, and customized virtual labs, providing students with hands-on training.

As part of this initiative, DBRAU will also establish a Cybersecurity Counselling Cell (CCC) to support students. The CCC will focus on raising awareness about cybercrime, offering preventive guidance, and assisting individuals affected by online fraud or digital security incidents. This support system is expected to play a crucial role in fostering a safer online environment for students.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards expanding vocational education in cybersecurity, preparing students with the digital skills necessary for higher education and future careers. By bridging the gap in cybersecurity education, the program aims to empower a new generation of professionals equipped to tackle the challenges of the digital age.
