The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is set to conclude the regular registration window for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2027 today, November 5, 2026. Aspirants who wish to apply for the entrance examination without paying an additional late fee must ensure their application forms are submitted through the official website, ceed.iitb.ac.in, by 11:59 PM.
This deadline follows a previous extension, which moved the original cutoff date from October 31 to the current November 5. Candidates who are unable to meet today's deadline will still have an opportunity to register, though they will be required to pay an additional late fee of INR 500. The extended registration window with the late fee penalty will remain active until 5:00 PM on November 10, 2026.
To register for the examination, candidates are required to visit the official CEED portal and initiate the process by creating an account with a valid email address. Once the verification process is complete, applicants can log in to fill out the necessary personal and academic details. The application process also requires the submission of supporting documents, including a photograph and signature, followed by the payment of the registration fee.
IIT Bombay serves as the conducting body for CEED, which facilitates admission into Master of Design (M.Des.) and PhD programmes across various participating institutions. The examination itself is scheduled to take place on January 17, 2027, and will be held in a single session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. The test structure comprises two distinct sections, Part A and Part B, both of which must be completed by all candidates.
Following the conclusion of the registration period, the next major milestone for applicants will be the release of the admit cards. IIT Bombay has confirmed that the hall tickets for the 2027 examination will be available for download starting January 1, 2027. Candidates are encouraged to monitor the official website regularly for any further updates regarding the examination process or potential changes to the schedule.
