The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has officially released the results for the CSAB 2026 Special Round 1 seat allotment today, August 6. Candidates who participated in the Special Round counselling can now check their allotment status by logging into the official CSAB portal using their JEE Main 2026 application number and password. This round of allotment is crucial for admissions to vacant seats available in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) following the conclusion of the JoSAA counselling process.
Those candidates who have been allotted a seat are required to complete the subsequent admission formalities within the specified deadline. The online reporting process commenced simultaneously with the announcement of the allotment results. During this period, candidates must upload the necessary documents, undergo document verification, pay the applicable admission fee, and submit their willingness option. According to the official schedule, all these activities must be finalized by August 10.
For candidates who have received a seat in Special Round 1, it is essential to first download their allotment letter and verify the details of the institute and branch assigned to them. Following this, they must complete the online reporting process by uploading the required documents and paying the designated fee. Additionally, candidates are required to submit their willingness option, which will dictate whether they wish to retain their allotted seat or be considered for upgradation in the subsequent round, in accordance with CSAB counselling regulations.
Failure to complete the reporting process or to submit the required willingness within the deadline may result in the loss of the allotted seat. After the Round 1 reporting process concludes, CSAB will initiate the seat upgradation process and prepare for the Special Round 2 seat allotment based on candidates' willingness choices, the availability of vacant seats, and merit.
As candidates navigate this critical phase of the admission process, it is imperative to adhere to the timelines and requirements set forth by CSAB to ensure a smooth transition into their chosen academic programs. The upcoming dates and procedures will be vital for those looking to secure their positions in the competitive landscape of technical education in India.
