Delhi University to Admit Students Based on Class 12 Marks at Two Colleges Without CUET 2026

Delhi University has announced a significant change in its admission process for the 2026 academic year, allowing two of its affiliated colleges to admit students without the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Aditi Mahavidyalaya and Bhagini Nivedita College will now accept admissions based solely on Class 12 board examination marks. This decision aims to address the issue of vacant undergraduate seats that have persisted despite multiple rounds of CUET UG counseling conducted through the Central Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal.

The University of Delhi's decision to permit direct admissions at these two colleges is a one-time relaxation of the CUET requirement, which remains the standard admission pathway for all other colleges within the university. University officials have emphasized that this measure is intended to expedite the filling of undergraduate seats that have not been occupied through the usual admission process.

Bhagini Nivedita College has already commenced the acceptance of offline applications from prospective students. The college is offering direct entry into popular undergraduate programs, including Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), and Bachelor of Science (BSc). Interested candidates are required to submit their application forms by August 5, 2026, to be considered for admission.

Meanwhile, Aditi Mahavidyalaya will be filling 40 percent of its total vacant undergraduate seats through this direct admission process. The college administration plans to create a merit list based on the Class 12 marks of applicants. Following this, the formal document verification process is scheduled to take place on August 6 and August 7, 2026. Students who are selected during this process will need to complete their fee payments within these two days to secure their seats.

This initiative reflects Delhi University's ongoing efforts to streamline its admission process and ensure that students have access to educational opportunities. As the academic year approaches, both colleges are poised to welcome new students, providing them with a chance to pursue their desired courses without the constraints of the CUET.
