Registration for GATE 2027 Opens on August 14: Learn the Application Process at gate2027.iitm.ac.in

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has officially announced the commencement of registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027, set to begin on August 14, 2026. This prestigious examination is crucial for candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programs in engineering, science, architecture, and humanities, as well as for recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal.

According to the official schedule, candidates can register for GATE 2027 without incurring a late fee until September 21, 2026. Following this date, the application window will remain open until September 30, 2026, but applicants will be required to pay a late fee. IIT Madras is conducting the GATE 2027 examination on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB) GATE, which operates under the Ministry of Education.

To facilitate a smooth application process, candidates are advised to prepare the necessary documents in advance. These include a passport-sized photograph, signature, photo identity proof, details of their qualifying degree, and any relevant category or PwD certificates. Additionally, candidates must ensure they have a valid email address and mobile number for communication purposes.

The registration process involves several steps. Candidates must first visit the official GATE 2027 website and access the GOAPS portal. They will need to select the "New Candidate Registration" option and provide personal information such as their name, date of birth, and mobile number. Upon successful registration, candidates will receive a GATE enrolment ID and password via email, which they will use to log in and complete their application by filling in educational qualifications and uploading the required documents.

The GATE 2027 examination is scheduled to take place on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027. As the registration date approaches, candidates are encouraged to stay informed about the latest updates and guidelines related to the examination to ensure a successful application process.
