The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has officially opened applications for its Bachelor of Science (Hons) programs in Data Sciences and Economics for the 2027 academic session. This marks the second cohort for these undergraduate programs, which aim to provide a robust educational foundation in both disciplines. Interested candidates can register online through the official IIMB undergraduate admissions portal, with the application window remaining open until October 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM IST.

IIM Bangalore will admit a total of 80 students, allocating 40 seats for each of the BSc (Hons) Data Sciences and BSc (Hons) Economics programs. The limited intake is designed to foster personalized learning experiences, close faculty mentorship, and enhanced academic engagement within the institute's residential campus. Both programs feature an interdisciplinary curriculum, allowing students to gain insights from multiple fields. For instance, those enrolled in Data Sciences will also study Economics and Business Studies as minors, while Economics students will complete minors in Data Science and Business Studies.

To be eligible for admission, candidates must be 20 years old or younger as of August 1, 2027, and must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board. Additionally, applicants are required to have studied Mathematics in both Classes 11 and 12, achieving a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics in Class 10. This academic background is essential for ensuring that students are well-prepared for the rigorous coursework in these programs.

The selection process will involve the IIM Bangalore Undergraduate Admissions Test, which is scheduled for November 15, 2026, although this date is tentative. Shortlisted candidates will then participate in personal interviews during the second and third weeks of January 2027. Offers and waitlist notifications are expected to be communicated in the third week of January 2027, providing candidates with timely updates on their application status.
