IIM Bangalore Placements: More Than 650 Jobs Offered, Consulting Most Popular Field

The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), successfully placed all 595 students who participated in the placement process. A total of 176 companies hired students this year. The leading recruiters included Accenture Strategy (75 hires), Boston Consulting Group (25), TCS Management Consulting (24), American Express (20), Bain & Company (17), PwC (16), and McKinsey & Company (14).
According to the Student Placement Committee, this placement season had a mix of regular and new companies, with 30% of them hiring from IIMB for the first time. More than 100 students received offers through the Lateral Placement Process, which is specifically for candidates with over 18 months of work experience. These results prove IIM Bangalore’s strong industry reputation and the trust recruiters have in its students.
Most Popular Career Choices at IIM Bangalore
The most preferred career field was Management Consulting, which made up 41% of total offers. Other popular fields included Technology/Product Management, Investment Banking, FMCG, Retail, E-commerce, Conglomerates, Fintech, Healthcare, and Manufacturing. Companies hired students for roles in strategy, finance, marketing, general management, product management, operations, and analytics.

  • Consulting (32 firms, 245 offers): Leading companies like Accenture, Bain & Company, BCG, McKinsey, KPMG, and PwC recruited many students.
  • Technology & Product Management (34 firms, 80 offers): Companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Capgemini, Oracle, and ThoughtSpot offered jobs.
  • Finance & Banking (41 firms, 79 offers): Major recruiters included Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, CitiBank, HSBC, Barclays, and Axis Bank.
  • E-commerce & Telecom (19 firms, 70 offers): Companies such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ola, Swiggy, and PhonePe hired students.
  • Manufacturing & Energy (19 firms, 38 offers): Companies like Tata Steel, Suzlon Energy, Indian Oil, and Samsung Electronics were among the recruiters.
  • FMCG & Retail (16 firms, 37 offers): Companies including HUL, ITC, Kraft Heinz, Mondelez, and P&G offered placements.
  • Conglomerates (8 firms, 23 offers): Large groups like Adani, Mahindra, Tata Administrative Services, and RPG Group hired students.
  • Healthcare & Education (8 firms, 23 offers): Companies like Dr. Reddy's, Sun Pharmaceuticals, and Optum recruited graduates.
