IIM Lucknow achieves 16 Gold Medals in inter-IIM Sports Fest

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow achieved the honour of winning the title at ‘Sangharsh 2025’, it is an inter-IIM sports festival organized at IIML.

IIML achieved a total of 188 points, it surpassed IIM Calcutta (146), IIM Bangalore (137) and IIM Ahmedabad (101). It was a three-day fest concluded on Sunday. The fest provided an opportunity to bring together 900 athletes from several B-schools, cherishing the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and excellence.

Sangharsh 2025 witnessed intense competitions across different sports, involving badminton, basketball, carrom, chess, cricket, and more. There were 40 matches organized throughout the tournament.

The athletes showed exceptional skills, ranging from strategic brilliance of chess to energetic performance. The atmosphere was filled with support from the crowd. The event had exceptional performances, IIML led with 16 gold medals while IIM achieved 5 golds and IIMC and IIMA 3 and 2 gold medals respectively.

While the closing ceremony the shuttler and Paralympic medallist Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj, who is also the secretary the Department of Sports, UP, said, "These thrilling events bring back memories of my time in engineering college; the same songs are still being played! Some things never change. Make a commitment today to maintain a stress-free and joyful life for the next two decades. Appreciate these moments and stay happy."

In addition, the IIML director Prof Archana Shukla stated, "Sportsmanship is more than a value—it is a foundation for growth. It teaches us to overcome challenges."

Overall, it was a successful event, IIMs reunited and celebrated the moment of joy and sports.
