The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has announced the launch of a six-month online certificate program titled "Advanced Data Science and Machine Learning for Business Analytics." This initiative is designed specifically for working professionals and is set to commence on October 3, 2026. The course aims to equip participants with essential skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and business analytics, thereby enhancing their ability to make data-driven decisions in their respective fields.Eligibility for the program is open to graduates from recognized universities or institutions who have achieved a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. Additionally, professionals with at least three years of relevant work experience may apply if they have secured a minimum of 40% in their qualifying degree. This inclusive approach allows a diverse range of candidates to enhance their expertise in data science and machine learning.The course will be delivered entirely online over a span of six months, comprising a total of 60 learning hours. Participants will engage in live weekend sessions, each lasting three hours. For those who may not wish to complete the full program, a three-month exit option is available, allowing them to receive a Certificate of Participation upon completion of the initial segment.Developed by the Department of Management Sciences (DoMS) at IIT Kanpur, in collaboration with faculty from other prestigious IITs and IIMs, the program emphasizes hands-on training in key areas such as Python programming, R programming, data analysis, data visualization, machine learning, and generative AI. Participants will have the opportunity to work on real-world business applications, learning to automate tasks, analyze data, and derive valuable insights for business growth.The financial structure of the program includes an application fee of INR 1,000 plus 18% GST, and a program fee of INR 85,000 plus 18% GST. The total course fee can be conveniently paid in two installments, making it accessible for professionals looking to advance their careers in the rapidly evolving field of data science and machine learning.
