IIT Kharagpur To Hold Their Sports Fest ‘Shaurya’ in January

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) is ready with the stage for its highly anticipated annual sports fest, Shaurya 2025, which will take place from January 10 to 12, 2025. With its dynamic theme, Veerashwa Kshetra, this edition promises a thrilling celebration of athleticism, passion, and fearless competition.

Since its inception in 2008, Shaurya has become one of India’s premier sports festivals, providing a national platform for athletes while promoting a vibrant sports culture. This year, inspired by the timeless virtues of bravery and resilience, the fest invites participants to push their limits and compete in the sacred sports battlefield.

Featuring over 20 disciplines, including athletics, football, basketball, cricket, badminton, volleyball, and racquet sports, Shaurya 2025 will showcase intense competition across individual and team events. Highlights include the much-anticipated cricket tournament, electrifying football finals, and standout performances in athletics and racquet sports.

Beyond the competitions, the fest offers expert talks, interactive workshops, and cultural performances, making it a well-rounded experience. The central attraction this year is the Veerashwa Arena, an immersive zone symbolizing the warrior spirit with dramatic installations and real-time audience engagement activities. Previous editions have hosted renowned sports personalities like Deepika Kumari, Joydeep Karmakar, Subrata Bhattacharya, and Charles Borromeo.
