The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the examination schedule for the first session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027. According to the latest announcement, the first session is set to be conducted over six days in January 2027, providing students with a clear timeline for their upcoming engineering entrance preparations.
The examination for Session 1 is scheduled to take place on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, and 30, 2027. To ensure operational flexibility, the NTA has also designated January 31, 2027, as a buffer date. This examination serves as the primary gateway for students seeking admission into various undergraduate engineering and technical programmes offered by National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other participating institutions across the country.
While the dates for the first session have been confirmed, the NTA has yet to release the specific schedule for the second session of JEE Main 2027. Based on established patterns from previous years, the second session is anticipated to be held in April 2027. Official confirmation regarding these dates will be provided through a formal notification on the NTA’s official website in due course.
Regarding the registration process, candidates will have the flexibility to apply for both sessions simultaneously or opt to register for the second session separately during the window expected to open in February 2027. Although reports suggest that the registration process for the first session may commence in October 2026, students are advised to wait for the official announcement before finalizing their plans. Once the application portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in goes live, candidates will be required to carefully review the information bulletin for specific details concerning eligibility criteria, application fees, and necessary documentation.
As the examination cycle approaches, students are encouraged to monitor the official NTA website for the most accurate and up-to-date information. The exact date and shift allotment for individual candidates will be communicated through the detailed examination schedule and the subsequent release of admit cards. Ensuring that all personal and academic information is accurate during the registration process remains a critical requirement for all applicants.
