MH CET Law 2026: CET Cell Announces Guidelines for Final Institutional Round

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has officially released the guidelines and schedule for the fourth and final institutional-level round of admissions for LLB programmes. This concluding phase of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) is designed to fill vacant seats for both the 3-year and 5-year LLB courses for the 2026-27 academic year.

Candidates who were unable to secure a seat in previous rounds or those who missed earlier application deadlines now have the opportunity to participate in this final stage. The process will be conducted directly at the level of the admitting colleges, based on merit lists generated by the official system.

Key Deadlines and Registration Procedures

The CET Cell has introduced specific timelines for candidates to register or modify their existing applications. For the 5-year LLB course, the window for new registrations and application editing is open from September 26, 2026, through September 28, 2026. Students applying for the 3-year LLB course may submit their applications or edit their details starting from September 27, 2026, with the window closing on September 29, 2026.

A critical update for all participants is that previous college preferences are no longer valid. The CET Cell has explicitly stated that any college options submitted during Round III or any earlier stages of the counselling process will not be considered for this final round. Consequently, all candidates must submit fresh college choices to be eligible for seat allotment in this institutional phase.

Counselling Options and Institutional Guidelines

The institutional-level round serves as the final opportunity for students to secure admission through the state-managed process. Candidates who are dissatisfied with their current seat allotment have the option to withdraw from the counselling process, though they should be aware that a withdrawal fee will be applicable in such cases.

The entire admission process remains centralised under the management of the State Common Entrance Test Cell. As this is the final round, students are encouraged to monitor the official website closely for the release of system-generated merit lists and further instructions from their respective colleges. All applicants must ensure their documentation and preferences are updated within the specified dates to remain eligible for consideration.
