The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has officially launched the option entry process for the MHT CET 2026 Centralized Admission Process (CAP) Round 1, starting today, July 28. This opportunity is available to candidates whose names are listed in the final merit list. Eligible students can now access the official CAP counselling portal to submit their preferred colleges and engineering branches for admission into Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programs across the state. The option entry window for CAP Round 1 will remain open until July 30, providing candidates with a limited timeframe to make their selections. It is crucial for students to fill out their choices meticulously, as the seat allotment will depend on various factors, including their merit rank, reservation category, seat availability, and the order of preferences indicated in their option forms. To successfully complete the option entry process, candidates are encouraged to list a substantial number of college and branch preferences. It is advisable for students to consult previous years' cut-off marks, the newly released seat matrix, and their own merit ranks while preparing their preference lists. This strategic approach will enhance their chances of securing a seat in the first round of CAP counselling.Once the option entry window closes on July 30, the CET Cell will process the submitted preferences and is expected to announce the provisional seat allotment results for CAP Round 1 on August 2. Candidates who are allotted a seat will need to select the appropriate admission option and complete the reporting process within the timeline specified by the CET Cell.
