National Institutional Ranking Framework is a ranking methodology released annually by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, designed to rank the higher education institutions of India. The vision behind this ranking scheme is, as expressed by the Hon’ble Education Minister, “Knowing the quality, performance and strengths of an academic institution is a right of students and parents”. NIRF launched in November 2015 by the Ministry of Education was used for this edition as well as for the previous eight editions of India Rankings released for the years 2016 to 2023.
