The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated a major operational overhaul ahead of the upcoming examination cycle, including the JEE Main 2027, which is scheduled to commence on January 20. To enhance the security and integrity of its testing processes, the agency has enrolled a panel of more than 5,000 experts. This diverse group includes academicians, scientists, researchers, educators, and language professionals tasked with the critical responsibilities of drafting, translating, vetting, and moderating examination content.

The recruitment of these experts is part of a broader strategy to establish a comprehensive, centralized question bank. By creating a large, common pool of questions, the NTA aims to mitigate risks associated with paper leaks and unauthorized access. This new system is designed to ensure that individual subject matter experts and translators work on content without knowing which specific questions will eventually be selected for a particular examination or when they will be deployed.

Strengthening Exam Security and Integrity

The NTA's new approach focuses on preventing the memorization or reproduction of questions by those involved in the development process. Under this framework, the agency intends to finalize question papers only minutes before an examination begins. This logistical shift is supported by the extensive nature of the new question bank, which allows for dynamic selection and randomization of test items.

To maintain strict confidentiality, all selected experts are required to sign comprehensive Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) upon their appointment. These agreements must be reaffirmed at the commencement of every new assignment, ensuring that security protocols remain a priority throughout the lifecycle of the question bank development.

Ongoing Recruitment and Exam Schedule

The NTA continues to invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified professionals to join this three-year panel. There is currently no fixed deadline for these applications, as the agency intends to continuously expand its pool of experts throughout the year. This ongoing recruitment process covers a wide array of national-level assessments, including CUET (UG and PG), UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, and NEET, alongside JEE Main.

For students preparing for the upcoming cycle, the JEE Main 2027 is scheduled to take place from January 20 to January 24, with additional testing on January 28, 2027. Registration for the first session is currently active on the official NTA website. Candidates are reminded that the deadline to submit their applications without incurring a late fee is November 22.
