The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Committee has announced new requirements for candidates with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) who wish to participate in the NEET UG 2026 counselling process. According to a recent notice, all Odisha domicile candidates seeking admission under the PwBD category must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the Medical Assessment Board prior to engaging in the counselling for the 85% State Quota for MBBS and BDS courses. This directive aligns with the National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines regarding the assessment of PwBD candidates for medical admissions.To secure the Eligibility Certificate, candidates must present themselves at the Medical Assessment Board located at LT-II, SCB Medical College in Cuttack. Essential documents required for this assessment include the NEET UG 2026 scorecard, a Permanent Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card issued by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, and a self-certified affidavit detailing functional abilities. Additionally, candidates must provide disability-specific affidavits as outlined in the NMC's guidelines.The OJEE has emphasized that the Medical Assessment Board will issue the Eligibility Certificate only after thoroughly verifying the disability details provided in the UDID Card and the accompanying affidavits. It is crucial for candidates to meet the eligibility criteria set forth by the NMC, as the certificate will only be valid for the current academic session.Only those candidates who are recommended by the Medical Assessment Board will be permitted to select PwBD seats during the Odisha NEET UG Counselling 2026. The OJEE has warned that any candidate found to have submitted fraudulent documents, such as a fake UDID Card or false affidavits, will face immediate cancellation of their allotted seat and potential legal repercussions.In the coming days, OJEE is expected to release a detailed schedule for the Medical Assessment Board's activities on its official website. Candidates interested in admission through the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) are advised to stay updated with notifications from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to ensure compliance with all admission requirements.
