Royal Global University Partners with Assam Rifles to Launch Defence Scholarship Schemes

Royal Global University (RGU) has officially entered into a strategic partnership with the Assam Rifles, formalising a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding higher education access for the families of defence personnel. The agreement, signed at the Headquarters of the Directorate General of Assam Rifles in Laitkor, Shillong, establishes a framework for financial support designed to assist the children and dependents of those serving in the security forces.

This initiative seeks to alleviate the financial pressures often associated with pursuing advanced academic qualifications. By collaborating with the Assam Rifles, the university intends to provide targeted scholarship opportunities for the families of serving soldiers, retired personnel, disabled veterans, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Details of the New Scholarship Programs

The collaboration introduces two distinct financial aid categories under the Royal Global University banner. The first, known as the RGU Royal Shaurya Scholarship, is specifically tailored for the children and dependents of martyrs and recipients of gallantry awards. Under this scheme, eligible students are entitled to a 100 per cent waiver on their tuition fees, ensuring that cost does not become a barrier to their academic aspirations.

The second initiative, the Royal Suraksha Scholarship, offers a 50 per cent tuition fee concession. This program is available to the wards of both currently serving and retired defence personnel. Both institutions have expressed that these scholarships are intended to support the educational journey of military families, reflecting a shared commitment to nation-building through the empowerment of students.
