The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME) Uttar Pradesh has released the guidelines for the first round of UP NEET UG Counselling 2026. This crucial process is aimed at candidates who have successfully qualified in the NEET UG 2026 examination and are seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses. Prospective students are urged to familiarize themselves with the registration process, counselling fees, security deposits, required documentation, reservation policies, and the free exit policy before engaging in the admission process.
Eligible candidates must complete their online registration at upneet.gov.in. The DGME has emphasized the importance of careful registration, which includes uploading necessary documents, paying the registration fee, and adhering to all reservation guidelines prior to entering their web options for UP NEET UG 2026. It is essential for candidates to register using their personal mobile numbers and email addresses, as all official communications will be conducted through these channels.
To finalize their registration, candidates are required to pay a security deposit online before they can begin selecting their choices. Those opting for both government and private medical counselling must deposit INR 2 lakh, while candidates participating in counselling for both government and private dental colleges are required to pay INR 1 lakh as a security deposit. This financial commitment is a critical step in the counselling process.
In addition to the registration and payment details, candidates should also be aware of the state-wise distribution of MBBS and BDS seats. The latest information regarding the number of government and private colleges, along with the complete seat matrix for the academic year 2026-27, is available for comparison across 35 states and union territories. This data will assist candidates in making informed decisions regarding their preferred institutions.
As the counselling process unfolds, candidates are encouraged to stay updated on the latest education news, including exam results, schedules, and admission-related information. The DGME aims to facilitate a smooth and transparent counselling experience for all participants, ensuring that they are well-prepared for the next steps in their medical education journey.
