VIT Bhopal Introduces New Engineering Cohort with Orientation Guided by Industry Leaders

VIT Bhopal University recently held a special Fresher’s Orientation Programme to welcome its new undergraduate students for the 2026-27 academic year. This event was designed to equip young engineering aspirants with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a world increasingly influenced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern digital technologies. The orientation aimed to prepare students entering popular engineering disciplines, including biotechnology and computer science, for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. G. Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT Bhopal University, who emphasized the importance of adapting to the evolving technological landscape. Key figures in the university's leadership, including Vice President Dr. Sankar Viswanathan, Assistant Vice President Ms. Kadhambari S. Viswanathan, and Trustee Mrs. Ramani Balasundaram, were also present to support the initiative. Their participation underscored the university's commitment to fostering a robust educational environment for its students.

To inspire the newly enrolled students, the university invited prominent industry experts as special guests. Mr. Amit Chaudhry, Director of Microsoft CSS, served as the Chief Guest and shared insights on current industry trends, essential technical skills, and strategies for achieving career success in a competitive job market. Additionally, Swami Vigyanananda Ji, a respected spiritual thinker and alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, attended as the Guest of Honour, while distinguished alumna Ms. Priyanka Giri from the 2023 batch also participated in the event.

During his address, Dr. G. Viswanathan encouraged students to view their time at the university as an opportunity not only to achieve technical excellence but also to cultivate integrity, leadership, and a commitment to nation-building. His message resonated with the audience, reinforcing the university's mission to develop well-rounded professionals who can contribute positively to society.
