The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially announced the counselling date for Defence quota candidates for the WBJEE 2026. Scheduled for August 18, 2026, the counselling will take place in an offline format at the designated venue. This announcement comes as part of the board's efforts to facilitate the admission process for qualified candidates seeking to secure seats under the Defence quota.

According to the notification released on the official WBJEEB website, a total of 105 candidates have been identified by the Rajya Sainik Board, Home Department, for participation in the Defence quota counselling. Candidates who have not previously engaged in the WBJEE 2026 counselling will be required to pay a fee of INR 500 in cash at the counselling venue on the day of the event.

The counselling session is set to commence at 12:30 PM on August 18, 2026, at the WBJEE Board office located at RUPANNA, DB-118, Section-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700064, which is near DB Park and opposite Bidhannagar College. It is imperative for all candidates to be physically present at the venue with the necessary documentation to ensure a smooth counselling process.

During the counselling, candidates will be called for seat allotment based on their General Merit Ranks (GMR). Notably, the domicile criteria will not be a requirement for candidates seeking to benefit from the reservation of Defence quota seats in Government Engineering and Technology colleges, as well as Jadavpur University. A total of 13 seats are reserved under this quota, with 11 allocated to various branches in Government Engineering and Technology colleges and 2 specifically for Jadavpur University.

All candidates attending the WBJEE counselling are advised to bring original documents along with photocopies to the venue. This preparation is crucial for verifying eligibility and ensuring a successful admission process. As the date approaches, candidates are encouraged to stay informed about any updates or changes regarding the counselling procedure.
