The Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology, commonly referred to as CEPT University, was founded in 1962 by the Ahmedabad Education Society with support from the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). CEPT is also acknowledged as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.
