Department of Law, Panjab University Admission 2024: Eligibility & Selection Criteria

The Department of Law at Panjab University provides undergraduate - LLB, postgraduate - LLM, and postdoctoral - PhD programs in the field of Law. Admission to the Department of Law is based on both merit and entrance exams. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can apply online through the official Panjab University website. The entrance test for the LLB program is PU LLB, for the LLM program it is PU-CET (PG), and for the PhD program, it can be PU PhD or scores from UGC NET/ JRF/ CSIR NET/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) exam/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE or GPAT, or candidates who are ICAR (NET), SPM, Teacher Fellowship holders, or have completed MPhil (in regular mode only).

Candidate must have passed Bachelors/ Masters Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 45% aggregate from Panjab University or any other University recognised by Bar Council of India and Panjab University

LLM

Candidate must have passed LLB/ BA LLB/ BCom LL.B or equivalent from Panjab University with a minimum of 55% aggregate or any equivalent examination of another University recognised by the Syndicate

PhD

Candidates, who have completed a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC, ST, PwD, BC category) from Panjab University, Chandigarh, or equivalent university
