DY Patil Dental College was founded in 2000 and is accredited by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, the Dental Council of India, and the Malaysian Dental Council. The College provides advanced training in various fields of dentistry, such as Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Periodontology, Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, among others. The College has partnered with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry to offer a one-year full-time fellowship program, and upon completion, candidates receive an Associate Fellowship from AAID. Notably, Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College, Pune, is the only institution in India that offers this program. The program provided by DPU is recognized by the Malaysian Government and the Malaysian Dental Council, allowing students to practice as Dentists in Malaysia.
