Founded in 2008, the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (commonly referred to as IIIT Delhi or IIIT-D) is a state-level institution that began with an initial cohort of 60 students. The main campus is situated in Okhla and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). IIIT Delhi is also affiliated with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and has received a Grade 'A' accreditation from NAAC. The institute is supported by the Government of Delhi, which allows it to maintain both administrative and academic independence. Additionally, Delhi IIIT has established a research and development lab in partnership with IRISYS Corporation Limited from South Korea. Recently, Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology has dropped to the 85th rank in the 'Engineering' category of the NIRF Rankings 2024.
IIIT Delhi has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UNIST for a duration of five years to foster academic collaboration between the two institutions. Admissions to the flagship programs, BTech and MTech, are conducted through JEE Main/UCEED and GATE/PGCAT-IIITD/GAT-B, respectively. The highest domestic and international packages offered during the IIIT Delhi placements in 2023 were INR 51.03 LPA and INR 51.30 LPA, respectively.
