According to the IIT Kanpur fee structure for new students, BTech/BS students residing in hostels must pay a basic first-semester fee of INR 56,160, which includes one-time admission fees, a refundable security deposit, semester fees, and hostel charges. When tuition fees are included, the total fee amounts to INR 56,160 for SC/ST/PwD/MEB students, INR 89,493 for OEB students, and INR 1.56 lakh for General/OBC students. For PG programmes, the first-semester fee before tuition ranges from INR 27,660 to INR 57,790, depending on the programme and whether the student is a hosteller or day scholar.
