IIT Palakkad - Indian Institute of Technology

IIT Palakkad is among the top prestigious institutions in India. It has achieved a ranking of 64th in the 'Engineering' category according to the NIRF Ranking 2024. Founded in 2015, IIT Palakkad is part of the third generation of IITs in India. Currently, it is being mentored by IIT Madras. The college is operating from a temporary campus at the Ahalia Integrated Campus in Kozhippara, Palakkad, while the permanent campus is located in Kanjikode. A 500-acre site in Pudussery village, Palakkad district, Kerala, is designated for the permanent campus of IIT Palakkad.

The institute has established a study abroad agreement with Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in Auckland, New Zealand, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Texas at Austin, among others. These agreements will provide BTech final-year students the opportunity to study for one semester at a foreign university. The admission process for the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad in 2024 is mainly based on entrance examinations. IIT Palakkad provides a total of 31 programs across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels through its 11 departments. The available courses include BTech and MTech in the engineering field. Candidates are chosen based on several national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and GATE, among others.
