Khallikote Unitary University (commonly referred to as Khallikote University or KUU) is a government institution established in 2015, located in Berhampur, also known as Brahmapur, in the Ganjam district. The University is recognized by the UGC and has received NAAC accreditation with an 'A' grade. It provides 100% placement assistance through its dedicated in-house placement cell. The University offers a variety of specializations in fields including Anthropology, Education, Botany, Biotech, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Electronics and Telecommunication, among others.
Additionally, the University has formed several MoUs with institutions such as Shu-Te University (STU) in Taiwan, Odisha State Open University (OSOU) in Sambalpur, India, and National Pingtung University of Science & Technology (NPUST) in Taiwan, aimed at enhancing the educational experience by providing students with advanced facilities and opportunities. History of Khallikote Unitary University:
- Initially established as a Zilla School in 1856, KUU attained the status of an Intermediate College, known as 'Union College', in 1878.
- In 1887, Khallikote Unitary University was recognized as a Native College, with an enrollment of 127 students and 12 staff members.
- On August 16, 1893, the institution was officially named Khallikote College.
- Khallikote Junior College was established in 1896, and in 1904, the Victoria Memorial Hostel for Girls (also known as Jhansi Rani Hostel) was founded.
